Alexandra Arias Mendoza, MD FACC, FESC, MSA  is a professor and academic clinical cardiologist with specialty in cardiac intensive care  at Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia Ignacio Chavez  in Mexico City, Mexico. She is Head  of the Coronary Care Unit and Emergency Department. She is the Vice-President of the Mexican Society  of Cardiology and Leader of the stemi network IAM-MX in Mexico City. Clinical research interests are focused on the management of the full spectrum of acute coronary syndromes, heart failure,  and cardiogenic shock. Further research interests include Dyslipidemia, inflammation and preventive cardiology. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, multiple book chapters and scientific abstracts.
