Luis Ortega Paz, M.D., Ph.D.,

Luis Ortega Paz, M.D., Ph.D. ,is an academic cardiologist practicing at the UF Health Cardiovascular Center, University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville. He was trained in cardiovascular diseases at the Cardiovascular Institute of the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, University of Barcelona. His primary research focuses on clinical trials, antiplatelet therapy, platelet biology, intracoronary devices, and acute coronary syndromes. He has published over 110 articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored five book chapters. Dr. Ortega Paz has served as an investigator in several randomized clinical trials and prospective registries and has been a member of clinical event committees. He has also delivered lectures, oral presentations, and Late-Breaking Clinical Trials at international congresses.

Dr. Ortega Paz earned his Ph.D. in medicine and translational research from the University of Barcelona. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, a member of the ESC Thrombosis Working Group, and the European Interventional Cardiology Society. Additionally, he is a section editor for EuroIntervention journal and a peer reviewer for leading cardiovascular journals.
